HISTORY
From 1992 to 1996, Dave Morgan worked strictly as an individual and performed independent investigative functions on behalf of various government agencies (Drug Diversion, Medicaid Fraud, Pharmacy Audits).
In time, creating a business entity became necessary and as a result, MORGAN Enterprises commenced operations in 1996. Now, after more than a decade of significant and continuing growth, the company has evolved into Morgan Healthcare Audits LLC (MHA).
During the past five years, a number of state and federal law enforcement agencies acknowledged the need for assistance from pharmacy experts in their efforts to successfully prosecute pharmacy industry crimes. As a result, during these years, MHA has been part of several Department of Justice (DOJ) task forces. This has allowed MHA to thoroughly establish a solid reputation through participating in successful prosecutions of organized illegal Internet pharmacy rings and audit, analyze and perform as an Expert Witness in multiple drug diversion cases.
The success of MHA while working with the DOJ, contributed to a flood of private industry requests for PBM and Pharmacy audits. This resulted in MHA's expansion of its scope and services as well its growth to meet the increased demands for those services.
In 2002, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) challenged MHA to develop methodologies that could identify individuals that would harm our country. MHA was indeed successful; using drug and other data MHA was able to target ”Hot Spots” of possible biological targets that could be used against a population.
On many occasions, MHA has been called to serve as the Expert Witness for variety of litigations. These occasions have provided the litigators with the opportunity to develop a full understanding of the evidentiary process and provided MHA with insights that have since become the guiding principles for the performance of all audits. The result is that MHA treats each and every audit as if it were a criminal investigation. In simple terms, our audits hold up in arbitration or court.
The forensic techniques developed by MHA have also resulted in numerous "bill backs" to a large number of pharmacies resulting in sizable savings for our clients.
Based on our history of innovation, the projection for the future indicates that MHA will continue to serve as the pioneer in developing cutting edge methodologies. Further, the company will likely retain its position at the zenith of the Pharma Industry Auditing profession.
